We removed ourselves from the busyness of our lives for two weeks. To me, students are a thundering herd, speeding and speeding until we reach May –when we are told to finish strong. At the point of this trip, we were at the climax of our stampede. And then we left.
We all want to go back. New Hope Uganda had a way of bringing out the best in us.
These kids had so much joy, were so accepting of strangers who would only be there for two weeks. They say sometimes it’s easier to confide in someone who visits. There is so much hurt, but God let us see some of the healing that was also happening there. God works.
